On the A, Mind Control itself places a sultry female “boy you get to me… and I will never leave” vocal atop a chunky bassline, sparse house beats and insistent chords/stabs. It’s simple stuff, but it’s a track you can see working on contemporary floors and for older heads alike. Over on the B, meanwhile, Bumping Molly (nothing like a bit of subtlety in track titles, I always find!) is a much techier affair, with a treated, looping “not into it, not-not into it” male vocal, dark bass and moody synth FX.
Both tracks are good in their own ways but it’s the A that’s the killer for me.
